a reminder to always be ready for something special

Next week my youngest daughter turns 4 years old, so last night we took some time to shoot her four-year portraits. At the end of her shoot her younger brother came home and wanted his picture taken too! As a mom and photographer I never turn down a chance to capture an image of my children.

With coat on my little man stepped in front of the camera and into the lights ready for his picture. At that moment my breath was taken away because standing there waiting was the image you see below.

Always be ready you never know what might happen in the next moment.

If my camera had not been in hand and set to manual I would never have been able to capture my son in his purest form and in the way that I see him with all his complexity. Now to decide where I will hang this image and will it be a framed print, canvas wrap, or metal print. Stay tuned to find out!
